Sources said the focus largely remained centered on “strengthening and increasing the effectiveness of the party” before the national elections next year. The deliberations also focused on preparations needed to make an impact in the state where the party has failed to win a single parliamentary seat since 2014.

“A time-bound programme has been made for both leaders and party workers. The roadmap provided by the party in charge is for the next three months. Responsibilities will be fixed and leaders and workers will be made accountable for the tasks at hand,” said a party functionary present at the meeting. The roadmap for the immediate future discussed included political events and gatherings in the state.

“The party leaders in Gujarat have been asked to raise local issues and reach out to the masses,” the official added. During the meetings, the future events of “Jan Sampark Abhiyan” were also discussed. On Sunday, Wasnik is expected to reach Vadodara where similar meetings are scheduled to be held.
