At Shinde meet, leaders raise apprehensions over future after NCP entry

Several MLAs and MPs of Shinde led Sena raised their apprehensions about their prospects and future, in the the wake of entry of Ajit Pawar-led group of NCP MLAs into the Sena-BJP government, during a meeting called by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde of all the Shiv Sena leaders and elected representatives on Wednesday evening.

The meeting was convened by Shinde at his official residence Varsha bungalow amid reports of resentment among his party MLAs and other leaders over the induction of NCP legislators into the Cabinet.

According to sources, several party leaders and elected representatives raised their concerns about the entry of NCP into the alliance and the government and sought an assurance from Shinde that there would be no injustice towards them.

A source said that several raised their apprensions on facing similar issues that they faced with NCP during the MVA government.

Shinde,however, assured his flock that he will ensure that no injustice will be done.

A party functionary said, that “while there was some discontent among few MLAs, however, everyone is intact and they will follow what Shinde Saheb says.”

He added that during the meeting all their apprehensions were resolved by Shinde.

Meanwhile, Sena leader and Minister Uday Samant rubbished the rumour that Shinde would resign from the post of CM after Ajit Pawar ‘s entry into the government.

“It is a rumour that Shinde saheb will resign. Don’t know who spreads it. The upcoming Lok Sabha and the assembly elections would be contested under the leadership of CM Shinde,” Samant said.

“Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has also clarified the same. In today’s meeting Shinde ji has given a direction to party’s core committee to start a preparation for the the elections and have also appointed Sampark Pramukhs of the party in all districts,” Samant added.
